Canvas and Fights
At a time when the occupations for housing occupy prominence in the news and generate debates among the brazilian population, how about knowing one of them inside?
For those who do not have the opportunity to visit one of these places or, in the day-to-day running, have little time to follow the traditional journalistic vehicles, we created the @lonaselutas. This is an independent digital photojournalism on Instagram.
The texts tell stories of people who were part of the "Ocupação Povo Sem Medo" in São Bernardo do Campo, organized by the MTST (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem-Teto) and which brought together more than 8 thousand families.
More than presenting one of the largest occupations ever held in Brazil, and has received the support of several celebrities, such as singer Caetano Veloso and actor Wagner Moura, @lonaselutas talks about people. People who before being a militant, occupier, troublemaker or intruder (qualifications that depend on their point of view or political opinion), is human. With dreams, fears, virtues and defects.
For more than five months, I and a journalist friend visited this place, listened to reports, took hundreds of photos and produced the text, of which sixty three will be shown in @lonaselutas. The posts were posted between May and June 2018 and here you can see a bit about what has rolled.
Here I put some of the stories that were portrayed, but if you want to know the full story, go to: www.instagram.com/lonaselutas
